Just stick a candy thermometer in the radiator when running to see the temp while warming it up if you feel the need. Or, just fill it with the flush and go make a few rounds plowing and it will be up to temp very soon.
I would get a gauge in there some time pretty soon. It would be a shame to cook the engine if the something goes wrong.
