Some of the resistive wire strands could be broken not letting enough current thru for the coil ? I had a heck of a time figuring it out. some guy on here finally let me know about the resitive wiring dropping the voltage to the coil on purpose. I had looked all over that sucker for the dropping resistor. He said the resistive wire got frayed on his and set the harness on fire....
I currently have the wiring stripped off of my 2444, trying to get the time to rewire it. I am just running switched 12V to the coil and using an internal resistor coil. Much easier that way since I am rewiring the whole shebang.
