Makes me wonder about the newer IH 274 transmission. I THINK it is a 6 speed...3 hi/low range, but it may be 8.
I have heard all sorts of stories about the last offsets sold by IH (274), JD (900HC), and Kubota (L245H). Some say they are great, others curse them.
I had a Yanmar built JD 1050 and if that 900HC was made as well.....there can be no flies in that ointment! I think the 900 was essentially an offset 950. They have 8 speeds.....a very slow creeper and a 3 cylinder diesel that sips fuel and is extremely reliable. I rarely ever see one for sale though.
