The electronics in the "new" distributor will just take the place of the points. This means that it is wired normally, as John T point out. The interesting thing to me (and maybe it makes it easier in my head also) is that electrons flow from negative to positive, thus the effort in a positive ground system is to hurd them back to ground. The original push pull mushroom switch will need to be replaced. It is a grounding switch and cannot have any hot (negative) wires attached as it will be a short to ground. New (stock, or stock looking) distributor switches are pricy, but available. If you are not looking to make a trailer queen, a high quality warer resistant single pole single throw keyed switch can be used to supply ignition volts. It should be atteched on the supply side to the load side of the amp meter. A five amp inline fuse in that wire is also nice. JimN
