I"ve just invested in a 1972 1066, It has straight pipe without a muffler. I"ve heard that gassers like a little back pressure that a muffler gives; is this also true with turbo diesels? Got plenty of HP for what I need, just would like to know what is better for the motor. Also at full throttle tach only goes up to a little under pto speed, could this be the tach gears slipping or cable? It's showing 8900 hours on it.
