Get the Helicoil material completely out of the casting. Drill, tap, and bottom tap for threads that will be full depth just bigger than the Helicoil tap used for the poor repair you found. Use grade 8 bolts that have been cut off to just more than the depth of the new tapped holes, then drilled and tapped internally for the 3/4" original size, through their centers (thus making a bushing with big threads on the outside and original threads on the inside) Use Locktite stud and bearing mount juice to seat them into the holes (tighten with a stub bolt in the 3/4" threads) and let them set up over night. Then grind off the excess sticking out, to make nice. Use grade 8 cap screws to remount the plate, with thread lock locktight on those, no lock washers, just heavy thickness flat washers. My best least expense repair. JimN
