I can remember when i was 5 0r 6.......We took a trip to Wilmot SD where my dad spent many years of his life. We came to a bulding that looked like a big loaf of bread. When we got into the shed we came up to this tractor that looked huge to me! It was a Farmall H with a loader that was used to make stacks of hay and straw. I still can recall when dad hit the starter, it went wow..wow..wow..wow.. and then dad din't think it would start, but i wanted a ride on the loader...so he tried again....It went wow..wow.. and pop pop and then it was running!!! I will NEVER forget the smell of straw old gas and the spring time all rolled up into one. I wish i could get the tractor but it remaines in south dakota and is used around the new lake home. I would like to here some stories of the first tractor you ever saw! thanks for sharing you storie's. John Pine Island MN.

This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life.
