I just repainted and rewired my 1943 H. I struggled with ability to shut the motor off with the switch after I removed the diode in the 12volt converson that was in-place. So now, after you all helped me, I wired it up, it shuts off. However, I need to pull-sart or jump as the battery is dead-worthless and after a cold start, it goes down the driveway, one block, then sputters and quits. The coil is warm or even hot to touch. I put in-place a ceramic resistor before the coil. No difference...the warmer the motor, the shorter it runs. My coil was supposed to have a built-in resistor. So, now what...coil...condenser/points or does the battery even make a differenct? What am I missing? The motor runs so smoothly and then...sputters and dies quickly, even with a ceramic resister. What did I do wrong? Thanks, Dan.
