Now that I've had the H out of the shop and test driving it I seem to have a transmission problem. The only thing I did relative to the transmission was to rebuild the shifter lever, and replced a broken LH bearing cage. I installed a used bearing cage from a salvage yard, and not knowing the tolerances involved I did not place the shim that was there with the original.
When I start the engine I hear a pretty good vibration/rattling about in the middle of the trans platform. It stops when I depress the clutch. I used 85-140 oil in the trans.
What parts of the trans are moving, at idle with the tractor in neutral? And what can I check without removing the platform?
