I am working my way through a number of Farmall's restoring them. I am taking the time to attend to details, such as using DOT bolts, good original parts, and NO junk. I look for parts until I find good originals, as I am not using modern replacements. I also have gone as far as to make my own gas lines out of steel brake line, just to be "original".
I will build the engine back to it's factory specs (nothing that was not original or available from the factory) These will be show tractors, and pull for fun (no desire to get into the money pit of engine building for pulling), but I am trying my best to be correct in their restorations.
Am I being too wrapped up in detail?
Was wondering what others thought about going the extra mile to make their tractors as they came from the factory.
I have even gone as far as to obtain a few of the oringinal brass oil filters.........nuts huh! No one will ever see it if I use it. Might use the modern paper one, and just put these on display.......
This is intended to be a fun post. Looking for everyones opinion here.....no one is right, and no one is wrong...........
