You hit the nail on the head for what I am talking about. I have that little brass piece but didnt know if it was something somebody put in there or if it was a factory part. I didnt throw it away as I wasnt sure about it. What I don't understand is that the tube that I am talking about that goes towards the cam bearing is inside of the water jacket of the engine, but does not come all the way up to the deck face of the block. If there is nothing else there besides that brass deflector plate I dont see what would keep the antifreeze from going right into the oil if you fill the block with coolant.
Maybe I looked at it wrong and the tube is within a spot in the block that is sealed from coolant but I don't believe it to be.
