Just got a reman starter, and it is working correctly but just touches the top of the ring gear. The ring gear is perfect, so am at a loss.. all the sites seem to show that it should be a 10 tooth starter drive which it is, but it seems would need to be a 12 or 14 to mesh properly. The starter I removed I did not count the teeth, but it was only working about 50% of the time, and was old and full of rust. It was stamped 1108334, which the IH dealer cross referenced to 104193a1r as a rem replacement. This is a 291 cu in '67 706, do I possibly have an incorrect ring gear and need a different sized drive? Any help would really be appreciated. The starters and drives on this site don't give much info either, so I am at a loss. All I know is I need my 706 up and running!!!!!!

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
