I found the rim lugs welded to one of the rear wheels on my BN. Had to sacrifice the lugs to get the two apart. Turns out that the bolts had apparently gotten loose on one of them, and they ran it for long enough that way that they egged out the holes on the wheel. Their answer was to weld the rim to the wheel.
I suspect if you were to burn out the weld, you'd find either the rim or the wheel egged out or buggered up some other way.
