I'M working on restoring a 1940 Farmall H. It has low oil pressure especially when the engine is warm. It runs great otherwise. I took off the oil pan and checked out the oil pump and when I took it apart, I found there was no gasket with the plate that covers the gears so I made a gasket and put it in, but I used thick gasket material because thats all I had and now the pressure is worse. Should I have used thinner gasket material or left it out completely? Any info. to help me get the pressure up short of an engine overhaul would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
