What is the correct way to time an H 4 magneto to an International TD 6 gas start diesel engine. I do the following: bring the engine to top dead center with number one cylinder: Next is it correct to turn the magneto clockwise or counterclockwise to bring the rotor in line with number one terminal on the cap. The magneto on a TD 6 turns the opposite direction from the H 4 magnetos used on gasoline engine international farm tractors. One manual I have says to turn the magneto clockwise to align the rotor with the number one plug terminal on the cap and the other manual says to turn the magneto counterwise clockwise to align the rotor with number one terminal on the cap. These procedures are performed from the impulse coupling on the magneto
