I am restoring a 1942 H, and I have a couple of quick questions. I am adding a belly pump, and and working on the arm that mounts on the steering post. it has 2 holes in it, I presume 1 is for the ON/OFF switch, and the other is for the shutter control crank. I am planning to place the ON/OFF switch in the hole closest to the steering post and the shutter control crank on the outer hole. Is this the correct placement?
Other question I have is about the foot starter rod. I know my SM has one, and I wanted to know if that would have been an appropropriate option on the 1942 H. The original starter button location for mine was the box mounted to the steering post using the same bolt as the electric box. However, I would like to use the foot starter. Any feedback here? The gas tank base does have the opening to install the starter button, and is original to the tractor.
