I took my generator apart and low & behold just what John T & Bob M thought there is a spot where the armt is touching the field shoe in one spot. No fillings to speak of. The end bushing(brush holder end) is badly worn. The front(pulley) end appears tight(not worn).Where does one obtain said bushing and do you just remove the little plate on the end of the housing and drive the old one out and the new one in. I dont have any numbers on the generator. It is a 6V DR model off of a 48-52 Chevy. Thank YOu
