Well heres my trouble I recently picked up a 3444 with the 154 diesel enging. It starts good, sounds good, doesnt smoke, but seems gutless to me, if i were to hook it up to the old worn out h the 3444 would get drug all around the farm. It has new fuel filter, air filter is clean, Injector pump was replaced about a year and a half ago by the previous owner and one injector was replace at the same time. She bogs down and bellows black smoke in 4-low going up an incline. What could be wrong with this thing, everyone tells me it should be good and strong but its just gutless in my opinoin. What am i missing? Thanks for any help

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
