We have a Farmall Super C wide front. On either side of the engine there is a brace that runs from the Bell housing to the front end. The brace is about 1" round rod. At the bell housing it is welded to a flat plate and bolted to the bell housing with two bolts. On the front it bolts to the piece that sticks out front to limit front axle pivot. I have not seen another like it. It looks factory. The problem is that is is so close to the air cleaner every time we go to check/change the air cleaner oil we have to unbolt the air cleaner and swing it out to get the bowl off.
So my question is, is this factory? Factory option? Is it necessary? Does the Super C have problems cracking the front end without it? I am tempted to take them off... Actually the right hand side doesn't bother, only below the air cleaner.
