I recently aquired a 400 Diesal. I am trying to get it running on gas first. I have good spark. I removed and cleaned up the carb. The problem is I don't have an operator's manual. I know the air intake from the exhaust manifold shuts off in one direction of the lever on the left side of the tractor. I also know this lever is supposed to shut off the gas from the carb at some point by forcing the needle into the seat of the carb. What I don't know is how all this works together or if I got the linkage to the carb shut off correct. Could someone tell me in detail the start on gas, run on diesal and shut down of tractor procedure and how these linkages are supposed to work together? For example, is the tractor supposed to start on gas with the flappers in the air intake closed or is this the shutdown position? Thanks alot. Jeff
