I recently save a F-14 from the scrapyard. The enginge was free and the transmission was in good shape. After a few hours of tinkering a friend and I got it running,to both of our surpise.Problem is when I give it gas or atttempt to drive it,it cuts back and puffs out black smoke and nearly dies but doesnt,at least most of the time anyways. It idles fine with the occasisonal sputter and when I can get it up to full throttle it seems to run ok,however the engine seems to speed up and slow down.It also will do that when I can accually get it to move without cutting off.I have a good idea as to what I need to do but would like further suggestions.Thank you.
