i got the 154 in trade, i stripped all the wiring and put new points, condensor, voltage regulator, solenoid, key switch and coil the starter-genertor turns over seems to be ok. i rewired it new ish, i got diagrams to double check and there are now no fuses or safty wiring just simple basics, when i hook it to a battery jump the solenoid clicks.
which is the top of the solenoid/left or right? there is a bracket 2 bolts one each side, 2 small in front, 1 of the small has a s and one an i, with the bracket at the top, the letters are up side down when setting in front of it, at the bottom is round metal part extending. which is the top of course changes which side is for the starter anbd which side is for the battery, i think it all comes down to the solenoid but not certain.
