My Grandpas' 1941 H has the starter switch on the rear gas tank support. My 1945 Old Red H has it up on the steering post. If the rear gas tank bracket has a large hole and two small holes for bolts, the switch should go there. You will need about a 30 inch cable from the starter switch to the starter. Otherwise it would mount across from the fuse box. That cable would need to be around 40 inches. NAPA part number 714091 for a 1 gauge cable with correct ends. I'm sure Gary Biewer could provide you with the bolt and switch mounting bracket for the steering post. 218-937-5627.
