After I plugged the end of the tubing I only let the engine run for a minute or two, then shut it off. I was hoping that the gas level showing in the tubing would tell me whether or not gas was reaching the carburetor, but if the engine vacuum sucks it down anyway then this won't help me. If I were to plug the open end of the tubing before starting the engine wouldn't that prevent the air from sucking in so the tubing would then show the gas level in the carb bowl?
