The town made me replace my 70 year old water service prior installing their new remote radio-reading meters. I didn't wanna because I didn't think it was leaking. But sure enough, there were corrosion holes in several places but the heavy rust retained the pressure.
Couldn't use my big 780 Case backhoe/loader as there was not enough room. Rented a nice Komatsu mini-excavator. Back-filled with my 660 with Elwood front axle. The blade took a full bite with no wheel slippage.
A 60' roll of 1" Type K (heaviest) soft copper now sells for $373. I only used 30' and looking to sell the other 30'.
