I am looking at gas Farmall M. The engine has been replaced at some time. The engine has an oil dip stick on the block and petcocks on the oil pan. It also has a much bigger oil filter than what I am used to seeing on an M. everything else looks normal. Is this engine out of something other than another M? Is there a way to determine the specs of the engine by the serial number?
