I finally have the PTO out of the 706. I've not had one apart before. What are the most common causes of failure (it worked fine then would not engage when restarted). The fluid was overfull, linkage is intact (no broken pin), suction tube is intact.
Note that I can move the clutch plates back and forth with my fingers(normal?). Just trying to rule out the simple things first...
