Dave, That pipe is definitely threaded into the manifold with a standard 1" pipe thread. You are not likely to be successful in bending it back. When you have time, remove the hood and tank to gain clear access. The pipe will likely break off but you should be able to pick out its remains and install a new pipe. Just think how much better you will feel after you have succeeded! This is a normal part of a thorough restoration.
