dave : a guy i knew years ago that ran used eqpt lot and got to be friends with told me,15 hp for a mold borad per bottom, 25 hp for a chisel plow and apx 50 hp for a subsoiler or ripper if you want to run deep. now in my area we have more clay type soils. it worked for me and it don't seem to be bad on tractors as i like to stay under the hp as to not work them to death.see what others have to say, also may want to look at a on land plow.
