Ben: Would you please comment on why it is ill advised to regulate a 6V Generator for a 12V output. I converted a "H" to 12 V using this method approx 12 years ago and a Super "A" just a few months ago, both seem to work just fine. With the exception of the 12V slamming the Bendix into the starter ring with some force,I have not experienced any problems with the conversions. If this modification is in some way detrimental to the electrical system as a whole I would appreciate knowing so that I can make changes. I did the "H" due to lack of space under the cowl and the "A" because of the ease and cost. To the question as to why one would convert from 6V to 12V. Personal choice and it makes life much easier.
