If the valves were stuck in their guides, the rods are the first items to break in many cases. They can be hammered straight to serve again if not kinked. Use a flat table or piece of glass to make sure they are straight. Make sure the valves move through their full opening before buttoning up the cover. One other thing can cause both to bend.. Ice in the cylinder preventing them from moving. Which is not there now as you are rotating the parts.. Jim
