modifying a cub

What can I do to get more power out of my cub.
stock compression is only 6.5 to 1. Has anybody milled the head? How much can you take off and what was the end result?
How bout electronic ignition?? I know you can get conversion kits.
Anyone try a bigger carb?? I know the replacement carb for the cub is about 25% bigger.
Will converting it to 12 volt help any?

These are some of my ideas.My cub has just been rebilt and runs great but I want more. My neighbor has a 8-n and I need to show him up.
