By the way, just a safety tip that I forgot to add. When using WD40 to check for intake leaks, watch out for the exhaust manifold, especially don't get any on it if it's hot. Just remembered something else. We had a Super C up at school last year for an overhaul. It didn't have the same symptoms as yours, but we couldn't get enough RPM's out of it. The fly-weights on the governer were wore out. The pin holes were wore and it wouldn't allow it to open the carburator all the way. Just a thought, but you fly weights may be hanging up for a brief time. But it's just a thought, don't take my word for it. Check it out with more seasoned mechanic, after all, I'm still in going to school for mechanics.
