My 574 high speed (range transmission) quit working when removing snow with loader. Won"t allow me to shift into high speed. Reverse and low forward work fine.
The shaft feels like it is touching nothing inside. Maybe the shaft broke or something else inside.
I am guessing it requires a top down job and maybe 10 hours for a $50 part. Dealer was guessing when he agreed.Tractor is owned by a nonprofit so could do the job myself but I have better things to do.Have seen this tract split too many times but not anxious to tear into it. I figure tank, seat, metalwork, hydraulic lines, top cover and I am there. Sounds easier than it actually is I am sure. 10 hours? Once inside is it straight forward?
Sound like a simple shaft break? At least now it runs in low gear and reverse.
