I am having troubles with my 49 Farmall H. We have had below zero weather for the past 3 weeks, but I used it for hauling corn about 1-2 weeks ago, and the engine ran very smooth. And when I came back to use it a few days ago, the darn thing would not run correctly. It would run hard (on what sounded like just 2 pistons, for 3 seconds then it would quit. I kept using the choke on it when it was going to quit, and she started back to the 2 piston sound again. And then just today I cleaned the spark plugs up then she started up but still quit after 3 seconds. It seems like the carburator would like to flood by itself, and I didn't even use the choke when cranking the engine. I had a little propane heater pointed at the tractor to warm it up, it helped a little, but the H would still not run smoothly. It did run a little smoothly here and there, but still quit after 3 seconds, and I still needed the choke to keep it going. I checked for ice in the fuel tank: no ice in it, I checked the line: no ice either. The way the engine sounded, it sounded like it had dirt in the carburator, or maybe ice I don't really know, and that is what I need help with, so if you now anything about this kind of situation please email me. Thank you.
