So I got a new 6V battery, new coil, new plugs and plug wires, changed out the points, condenser and distributor cap on my H. Now she turns over pretty well, until I run the battery down trying to start her of course.
I got the tractor to start and she was actually running pretty strong, sounded like it at least. Except it would only run at 1/4-1/2 throttle, if I touched the throttle otherwise or if I put the tractor in gear and tried to move it, the tractor would die. I have to believe that it is a carb issue, but Im not positive.
Also, when it was running there were sparks, only a few, flying off the motor, coming from somewhere in the neighborhood of the manifold. I know that I need a new valve cover gasket, could that be my issue??
One other thing, the air breather bottom has a line in it that says oil level. Should I be filling the breather bottom up to this line with oil? If so, is just 10w30 good or is there some other oil I should be filling it with.
Thanks. All advice, suggestions, and help much appreciated.
