OK, I need some advice. My 460 suddenly decided not to start - it does turn over just fine, but it won't fire at all. I replaced the spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, and there appears to be good spark at the coil. I think it's a problem with the points, but I'm having trouble fixing it. Got a new set and installed them, nothing. Had a friend come over and look at it, he noticed that the new set didn't match up quite right to the cam. of course i THREW OUT the old set, except the little contact tab, which was shaped with a curve to it. Took that in to compare for a new set, and the guy said the only picture he had for a contact with a curved point contact like that was for a 660...and he guessed someone had put in a different distributor at some time...tried that set and of course it still isnt working. What can I do?? How do I know which is the right set of points to put in? I did get a number from the side of the distributor, it is not listed in my dang manual, which is useless for this problem. It does not show any pictures of the distribtor/points. Also, since I have monkeyed around in there so much, do you think I will need to re-set the timing?? I really don't want to! I appreciate any help, and all the patience!

If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
