Need help removing of counter shaft oil seals on my H

Does anyone know the proper technique for removing and replacing countershaft and main transmission/clutch shaft oil seals? Here's the story: I filled up my differential with diesel fuel to flush out the junk. Diesel started pouring out of the transmission case via the countershaft oil seal and main shaft oil seal. I removed the countershaft coupling which then exposed the coupling jaws on the power unit and transmission case. My parts manual shows that the coupling jaws are threaded on the shaft. Since the outside diameter is larger than the oil seals, it appears that the jaws must come off. I put a set of channel locks on the coupling jaw nearest the transmission case on the countershaft and tried to rotate counter-clockwise with no luck. Then I tried a pipewrench and nothing. Lastly I tried tapping the pipewrench with a rubber mallet, and still no luck. Therefore, to prevent damaging the transmission gears, I thought I would stop and see if anyone had any suggestions.
