: : : : : lets stop destroying our farming past by scraping : : : the old machinery we should use it or show it not scrape it i would rather see a old plow sitting in the trees than see it scraped we need to save the few examples of machinery we have join in lets stop the scrapers from takeing our past away from us : : What is a scraper, Is it like a grader? : I agree! Everyday I see a local farmer turned junkman hauling old machinery and other scrap to be recycled into new steel something or other. But how do we stop the recyclers?! Do we look over his load everyday and buy the machinery and implements from him? Kevin Keep an eye out for what is lying around your neck of the woods and tell your neighbors about this site. Tell them there is a market for their old stuff. Tell them to donate it to historical farm projects around the country. If they don't have WEB access, post it for them. Spread the word. That's about the only way I can figure how to do it, unless I have a rich uncle somewhere no one knows about, who can buy it all for me. Come to thiink of it, I can help. I live in NW, IN and work in NE, IL. I am rebuilding a IH 340 and 504. I could use a little of everything: i.e., discer, botom plow, harrow, cultivator, manure spreader; whatever you can think of a beginner might need. Heck, I'm even thinking of going with draft animals in the future, so I might consider some premature buys on horse drawn implements. The older, the simpler, the better. Jim
