After all the garbage Ford put me through with both my SVO Mustang and 4.6 V-7 F-150 (and we won't even discuss the Bronco II) I'd be scared of anything Ford with higher technology, if it works fine, but if it doesn't all the dealer will do is "they're all that way" and Ford Motor Company will let'em get away with it. You shouldn't have to write Dearborn to get a seat belt recall done, but unfortunately you have to and the dealer calling ever six months to brag to me how bad they screwed me on service and warranty has not helped heal the relationship. Yes our new Dodge was troublesome when new, but I spent less time with six Dodge warranty claims than trying to get one Ford seat belt changed under warranty and anything that went wrong with our Dodge was fixed, can't say that for the Ford. It still leaks and the only reason it now runs on all 8 cylinders is because I took it somewhere and had it fixed. The recent fiasco with the gas tank straps indicates nothing has changed. Note to Ford- if you want to reduce your warranty claims don't make junk cars and trucks that leak, don't run on all cylinders, have seat belts that don't work, cruise control that catches on fire and gas tanks that fall out. Heck Ford can't even make a window sticker that matches the truck (2011 Crew cab).
