I am in the middle of a rebuild on my '42 Farmall H and would like to know why the engine seems to get harder to turn over by hand as I tighten the engine mounting bolts. The clutch, pressure plate, throwout, and pilot bearings are new, and the flywheel has been resrufaced. When installing the block, the engine will turn freely, until the gap between the clutch housing, and the backer plate is about 1/16" apart. Then as I tighten the rail bolts, and the bolts from behind, I can feel the crank get harder to turn every time I give the bolts another turn. When the gap is completely closed, I can no longer turn the crank by hand. Thanks, for any help.
