Anybody ever heard of such a thing or used one? These are pictures of Thoger's heating system in Sweden. He gets a flame from the gasification process of course, then uses it to heat water in the boiler. Says it's common as dirt over there. Said the whole system, installed, runs about $15,000 US. Said he's got a lot less in his because he built it himself. The fire box is about the size of my computer, takes about 2 sticks of wood every 12 hours. Heats the house and his domestic hot water. The wood in the rack will last a week, the larger pile is a winters worth. Jon said the pile is about 6 feet wide and two sticks deep. There aren't any "hard" woods up there,it's just pine and birch. Said he cleans it out about once a week, gets half a soda pop can of ashes a week. There's a thermometer on the stove pipe, said it stays right at 50 degrees C,so you know it has to be super efficient if no more heat than that goes up the chimney. He's supposed to be here in two weeks to hunt. I want to know more about this setup.
Jon said Thoger is always saying that if Sweden was a bigger country, they'd rule the world (again). He said after being there and seeing the technology that they have,he absoultely believes it. I have pictures of their "no checkout" stores too. Just put in your card when you come in,load your cart, pull your card out when you leave and the groceries are paid for. What a country.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
