got this dumped on me after 2 other shops worked on it. 98 grand cherokee 4.0 6 cyl, 4wd. truck had gone thru 5 water pumps in the past 2 years. last pump lasted about 7 weeks. wiping out the pump bearings. all belts are new, no bent pulleys anywhere, belt tension is set correctly, crankshaft end play is good and no wobble in the end of the crankshaft or damper pulley. fan clutch has been replaced when the last pump went out. fan runs true and no vibration, all blades are intact. nothing that we can find is causing the bearings to fail. checked anti freeze also, and antifreeze has been replaced truck has 200k on it. its a moms truck, she is the only driver, its not getting beat on either. anything we missed?? last 2 pumps were from napa. pullin my hair out. a/c compressor runs straight and true, as well as alternator and power steering pump.
