A few posts ago someone talked about a electric log splitter. Here's mine. I made it from a materials my company tossed out. Most of the hydraulics, and motor are from a trash compactor. I had to use a static phase converter as the motor was 3 phase. By using stacked cylinders it does move a little slow. but it sure beats hammers, and wedges. I have had it for almost 20 years. I have since restocked my wood supply for this year. I can't just go out and cut down a tree in my forest like some of you. I haven't had to buy wood yet. Most tree companies give wood away.Sorry about the double pictures. Stan

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
