Hi Joel, I farm in the area. I was raised on Scugog Island, Farmed there till 2004 and we moved to Woodville, just north of little Britian , and west of Lindsay. 2750 is the official chu, but I go with 2800-2900 for silage 2750 for grain corn . This year mmy grain corn ran 3.75 metric ton per acre, grade 2, 21% moisture on Dec 4th when we combind. Land price hs gone up wildly in the last 2 years. In 2010 I bought a farm, 166 acres/ 150 workable with a house and barn for $500,000.00. This year a farm near by with no barn and a tear down house , 100 acres/ $700,000.00 . 100 acre farm just to the noeth of my home place auctioned at $950,000.00 . So as I said things have gone a little crazy. Good land rents for $150.00 per plantable acre, If you can find any. This is a very nice area to live in with every thing you could ever need close by. Lots of dairy , beef and cash crop farming. We always get second cut hay, and have decent weather. Hope I have answered your questions. If I can help any more just say the word. Bruce
