I'd have to look it up to be sure, but I think it's 40 amps. The breaker, copper wires, and drying unit just completed their third season. This new dryer also puzzles me. The old one is 10HP on a heavy old steel centrifugal fan. It starts hard. We originally installed a 60 amp breaker, but it wouldn't start the motor. 70 did. The new one supposedly starts like a 10HP, but is a 15-16 HP motor? How can that be? It's a composite axial fan, and starts immediately. Seems like I recall 10HP was a limit on a single phase service?
