: Jeff Sorry to say, I don't think it can be done with any practicality. What you are asking to do is get a reverse diode plate to go to positive ground, and then a different regulator to limit voltage to 6V. Better off to either live with the 6V generator system that you have, which can be quite good if you work all of the bugs out of the wiring, or convert completely over to 12V. For tractor starting use, the 6 volt starter will never know the difference between 6 and 12, except that it is a little on the hyperactive side. Lights and coil must be converted to 12 volt, but gauges can be handled by a dropping resistor.
