And that folks is why diesel will always be better.
More torque earlier. More torque at low rpms. Less fuel burnt. Engine life is longer.
The new gas engines will do a lot more but still require higher rpms to do the same work that a diesel will do.
In automobiles, my diesel passat does a 2000 rpms what my Ford does at 3000 rpms. Same for my trucks. The cummins does most of its work at 1600 while the ford does the same load at 3000.
