A friend has taken delivery of a new New Holland conventional baler shipped to the UK via Belgium. The first 200 or so bales were fine. Suddenly the RH knotter stopped working. Close examination revealed that the flat twine finger spring had moved and the cord was no longer being held securely in the twine disc. His field remedy was to tap a piece of wood in between the knotter frame and spring to prevent it moving. The dealer replaced the spring and retainer. It worked OK for a short time before failing again. The wooden peg was refitted and he was able to carry on. NH don't have an answer at the moment but have measured the frame etc. Wondering if anyone else has had any problems of this sort?

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
