I bought a 630 John Deere with a new motor in it. Tractor has been sitting for a while in a shop. Took the tractor to a mechanic for a tune up. He got the tractor running good, but it started to leak oil between the governor housing and the crankcase. Gasket was leaking was what the mechanic said was the cause for the leak. The mechanic got sick. Has been sick for over a year. Said he probably wouldn't be able to replace the gasket.
I picked the tractor up and took it to another mechanic. Didn't start the tractor, wenched it on the trailer.
This mechanic replaced the gasket. Now when we start tractor it has very very little oil pressure. Doesn't produce enough pressure to make the needle on the pressure gauge move. We pulled the inspection plate to look in the crankcase. Shaft that drives the oil pump is turning as the engine is running.
What could be wrong that we have no oil pressure.
Engine runs for just a few seconds at a time, so we don't damage it.
